Job vacancy: Research Assistant
We are looking for an intelligent, motivated and computer literate individual to assist with our growing portfolio of pathology projects.
The role
You will work with our pathologists on projects ranging from discovery research, antibody validation, TMA manufacture and clinical trials.
Your role will consist of:
- data collation
- spreadsheet analysis
- specimen data tracking
- image capture and annotation
- preparation of SOPs and protocols
- general data management.
Experience and qualifications
Previous experience of collating laboratory data in Excel spreadsheets, using digital image capture and analysis software, and presentation of results in MS Word, PowerPoint and Adobe Photoshop is essential, together with a keen eye for detail and ability to work to tight deadlines.
You will have worked in a histopathology/immunohistochemistry research laboratory in an academic, healthcare or contract research organisation, and have a good knowledge of basic anatomy and general histology/immunohistochemistry techniques. You will be a biomedical scientist, or a scientific research assistant with a relevant life sciences degree.
Hours of work: part time
